The Medgar Evers Men's Soccer team was in action Monday late afternoon as they faced non-conference rival Saint Joseph's College (Brooklyn)Ā and lost a close one by a score of 1-2.

The Cougars was only able to score one goal past the Bears' defense in the match. The goal was shot late in the second half. As a team, the Cougars played a very offense match shooting a total of 21 shots in the match ( 5 in the first and 16 in the second).Ā 

The only goal scored by the Cougars was by our Senior captainĀ Patrick Gentles (Portmore, Jamaica) in the 81st minute of the match. Gentles also took another shot in the match as well. SophomoreĀ Jordan Coke (Kingston / Jamaica) had a total of four shots in the match with two of them being on goal.Ā Erwine Pierre-Louis (Jacmel, Haiti) andĀ Skyvinsky Fils (Leogane / Haiti) both had four shots in the match with Pierre-Louis having two on goal and Fils having three.Ā Abdul Edwards (Georgetown / Guyana),Ā Kende Roberts (Port of Spain / Trinidad) andĀ Adeyemi Adeniyi (Oyo / Nigeria) all had a shot on goal in the match as well. GoalkeeperĀ James Hyacinthe (Aquin / Haiti) had four saves in two goal attempts.

Medgar Evers (2-12, 1-5) will return to the fieldĀ on Monday,Ā October 14thĀ for a home game away from home versus York College at 3:30pmĀ in Brooklyn, NY at MCU Park.
