Women's Basketball Drops Consolation Match Against New Rochelle

In the consolation match of the 19th Annual Betty Shabazz Women's Basketball Tournament Lady Cougars fell to the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels by a score of 47-71.

Leading the Lady Cougars were Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who flirted with a double-double posting 11 points and 09 rebounds, and Freshman Guard Shae-quana Brathwaite (Brooklyn,NY) who posted 10 points while grabbing four rebounds. Freshman Center Monicha Jean-Pierre (Brooklyn, NY) led the team in rebounds grabbing eleven. Freshman Guard Malecka Davis (Brooklyn, NY) won the All-Tournament award for the Cougars.

On the other end, leading the Blue Angels was Sophomore Point Guard Dar'Neisha Brice who played a great all-around game scoring 27 points, 6 assist and 5 rebounds in the match and also won the All-Tournament award for CNR's team.

Lady Cougars look to end their losing streak by playing their first conference matchup of the season versus conference rival Hunter College at home on Tuesday, December 5th at 5:00pm.
