Women's Basketball Drops First Conference Match Of The Season

The Cougars' women's' basketball team played in their first conference matchup of the season versus Hunter College on Tuesday night at 5:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 25-92.
Cougars faced a tough Hawks' defense as the team was only able to put up a 19% field goal percentage. The Cougars was going through lots of foul trouble has three of their five starters had four fouls in the match. Junior Guard Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn, NY) was the lone Cougar in double digits in scoring with ten points in the match while also contributing five rebounds, three assist and two steals. Freshman Guard Destiny Simmons (Brooklyn, NY) contributed with a team high four assist in the match.Â
For the Hawks, they were led by #11 Jade Aponte as she contributed 23 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals and going a perfect 7-7 on the line.Â
Lady Cougars look to get their first win by playing their second conference matchup of the season versus conference rival York College at home on Friday, December 8th at 5:00pm.
