Men's Basketball Drops Opening Round In 2017 BWW Classic Tournament

On Friday night, the Cougars' men's basketball team played in the opening round of the 2017 BWW Classic Tournament and dropped the match by a score of 73-81.
The Cougars had three players in double figures tonight. Senior Guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the team in total points with 27 including four from the three point line and going a perfect 3-3 on the line while also contributing five rebounds. Junior Guard Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 15 points while contributing five rebounds and playing all 40 minutes of the match. Off the bench, Sophomore Joancarlo Bonilla (Woodside, N.Y.) scored 10 points while contributing 3 assist. Freshman point guard Darrell Spaulding (Harlem , NY) had a game high 4 assist while Sophomore Timothy Bush (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a game high 9 rebounds.
For the Mustangs, Danzel Wright led his team in scoring with 23 points and Marcus Dentley recording a double double.
The Cougars look to bounce back in the 2017 BWW Classic Tournament in the consolation match against Penn State Abington on Saturday, December 30th at 2:00pm.
