Women's Basketball Drops Non-Conference Match Against Cairn

After a long winter break, the Lady Cougars faced off in a home match against Cairn University and dropped the match by a score of 41-69.

The Lady Cougars had two players in double figures. Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Cougars in scoring with 12 points and Freshman Guard Malecka Davis (Brooklyn,NY) scored 11 points. Freshman Guard Sharena Mellor (Brooklyn,NY) contributed with an astonishing 21 rebounds (11 offensive & 10 defensive)  in the match. Junior Guard Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn,NY) contributed with a game high 7 assist.

For the Highlanders, Kendra Stum had an amazing all-around game stuffing the stat sheet with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assist, and 5 steals. 

The Cougars look to end their losing streak by returning back home to take on Baruch College in conference play on Wednesday, January 3rd at 5:00pm.
