Maurice Swaby II Dominates As Cougars Wins Second Conference Game

The Cougars' men's basketball team played in their sixth conference matchup of the season versus City College Of New York on Thursday night at 7:00pm. The Cougars won the match by a score of 80-78 with a game winning three point shot by Senior Guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) making them 2-4 in conference play so far this season.

Senior Guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a game for the books as he scored 37 points ( 14-16 on the field, 7-8 on the 3pt line), 7 rebounds, 5 assist and 2 steals in 35 minutes of play. Swaby also made Cougars' history in this match by scoring his 1000th career point and the eighth Cougar to reach this feat. Sophomore Shooting Guard Joancarlo Bonilla (Woodside, N.Y.) scored 11 points on 4-7 shooting from the field in 20 minutes of play. Freshman Small Forward Basheeru Camara (Bronx, NY) led the Cougars in rebounds with 8 as he came short of a double-double with 7 points in 34 minutes. 

For the Beavers, Brendan Hauser led his team in scoring with 19 points in 34 minutes of play.

Cougars continue their conference play this week by returning home versus conference rival John Jay College on Saturday, January 13th at 4:00pm.
