Men's Basketball Drops Conference Rival Match Against John Jay CollegeĀ

The Cougars' men's basketball team played in their seventh conference matchup of the seasonĀ versus John Jay CollegeĀ on SaturdayĀ afternoon at 4:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 76-86 making them 2-5 in conference play so far this season.
Cougars had three players in double figures. Junior GuardĀ Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the team in scoring with 21 points (9-9 on the free throw line) in 31 minutes. Senior GuardĀ Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed with 17 points (4-4 on the free throw line) and 6 rebounds in 35 minutes. Sophomore Power Forward Jafet Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.)Ā contributed off the bench with 11 points (4-6 on the field), 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 26 minutes. Senior ForwardĀ Steve Shivers II (Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high 4 assist in the match.Ā
For the bloodhounds, Eric Sandoval Jr. led his team in scoring off the bench with 18 points while also contributing 8 rebounds.Ā
Cougars continue their conference play next week by traveling away to go against conference rival Lehman College on Wednesday, JanuaryĀ 17thĀ at 7:30pm.Ā
