Women's Basketball Drops Conference Rival Match Against City College of New York

The Cougars' women's' basketball team played in their sixth conference matchup of the season against City College Of New York on Thursday night at 5:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 44-91 making them 0-6 in conference play so far in the season. 

The Lady Cougars had two players in double figures. Freshman Guard Malecka Davis (Brooklyn, NY) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while also having a game high 4 steals in 37 minutes of the match. Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 11 points (3-3 on the free throw line), 4 rebounds, and 3 steals off the bench in 21 minutes of play. Junior Guard Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn, NY) had a game high 3 assist  in 23 minutes of play. 

For the Beavers, Debra Chan led her team to the win with 22 points (8-14 on the field 50% from the 3pt line), 5 rebounds and 6 assist. 

Lady Cougars continue their conference play this week by returning back home to challenge conference rival John Jay College on Saturday, January 13th at 2:00pm.
