Women's Basketball Drops Conference Rival Match Against John Jay College

The Cougars' women's' basketball team played in their seventh conference matchup of the season against John Jay College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 50-65 making them 0-7 in conference play so far in the season.Â
Lady Cougars had two players in double figures. Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed with a double-double recording 21 points (7-8 on the line) and 12 rebounds and also had 4 steals. Freshman Guard Malecka Davis (Brooklyn, NY) was short of a double-double with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals. Freshman Guard Sharena Mellor (Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high in rebounds with 15. Junior Guard Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high in assist with 6. Junior Guard Tanayah Williams (Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high in steals with 5.Â
For the bloodhounds, Katlin Koehler led her team to the win with 22 points ( 8-14 on the field, 2-3 on the 3pt line, 4-4 on the free throw line) and 7 rebounds in 29 rebounds.Â
Lady Cougars continue their conference play next week by traveling away to go against conference rival Lehman College on Wednesday, January 17th at 5:30pm.  Â
