Women's Basketball Drops Conference Rival Match Against Lehman College

The Cougars' women's' basketball team played in their eighth conference matchup of the season against Lehman College on Wednesday night at 5:30pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 40-84 making them 0-8 in conference play so far in the season.
Lady Cougars had all five starters play all 40 minutes of the match. Lady Cougars had two players in double figures. Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a team high 16 points while coming short of a double-double with 9 rebounds and a game-high 2 blocks. Freshman Guard Malecka Davis (Brooklyn, NY) scored 13 points, while also having 6 rebounds. Freshman Guard Sharena Mellor (Brooklyn, NY) had a game-high 14 rebounds and a game-high 3 steals in the match. Junior Guard Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn, NY) had a game high 5 assist in the match.Â
For the Lightning, Lynda Fields led her team with 23 points and eight assists. Dorsett scored 20 points on 10-20 shooting.
Lady Cougars continue their week by traveling away to go against non-conference rival University of Valley Forge on Friday, January 19th at 6:00pm.
