Cougars Fly By Cardinals To Get Their Third Win In Conference

The Cougars' men's basketball team played in their ninth conference matchup of the season against York College on Tuesday night at 7:30pm. The Cougars won a close match by a score of 74-72 making them 3-6 in conference play so far this season.
Cougars had three players in double figures. Leading the way of the Cougars offense was Senior Guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scoring 24 points going for 53% on the field while shooting in 6 three pointers and having a team-high 3 steals in 25 minutes of play. Junior Guard Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 17 points going for 73% on the field and having a team-high 6 assist in 40 minutes of play. Sophomore Guard Joancarlo Bonilla (Woodside, N.Y.) reached a double-double in this match contributing with 15 points going for 50% on the field and a team-high 12 rebounds in 40 minutes of play. As a team, the Cougars had a 52.5% field goal percentage and 52.9% on the three point line. Cougars scored 37 points in both halves and their largest lead was 19 points with a few minutes into the second half.
For the Cardinals, leading their team was Ryan Smart by reaching a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Cougars continue their week by returning to Cougars Cave to go against conference rival Brooklyn College on Wednesday, January 24th at 7:00pm
