Men's Basketball Wins Fourth Conference Match Of The Season

The Cougars' men's basketball team played in their twelfth conference matchup of the season against College of Staten Island on Tuesday night at 3:00pm. The Cougars won the match by a score of 83-77 making them 4-8 in conference play so far this season. 

Cougars had four players in double figures. Junior Guard Justin Sutton (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a team high 21 points going 5-7 on the field and 11-14 on the free throw line while also contributing 7 rebounds and 3 assist in 38 minutes of play. Sophomore Power Forward Jafet Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) reached a double-double collecting 15 points going 7-10 from the field and 10 rebounds while also contributing with a game high 3 blocks in 33 minutes of play. Sophomore Shooting Guard Joancarlo Bonilla (Woodside, N.Y.) scored 13 points going 7-8 on the free throw line. Senior Guard Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 11 points while also contributing with 5 rebounds, 3 assist, and a team high 2 steals. Freshman Point Guard Darrell Spaulding (Harlem, NY) led the Cougars in assist with 4. Cougars was in the lead for majority of the game (36:48 mins). 

For the Dolphins, Christian Taylor scored 27 points going 12-18 on the field while also contributing with 6 steals. 

Cougars continue their week by returning home for the CSAC-CUNYAC Challenge versus Keystone College on Saturday, February 3rd at 3:00pm.
