Women's Basketball Drops Match Against Conference Rival Brooklyn College

The Cougars' women's' basketball team played in their fourth conference matchup of the season against Brooklyn College on Friday night at 5:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match by a score of 35-79 making them 0-4 in conference play so far in the season.
The Lady Cougars had two players scoring in double figures tonight. Junior Center Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led all scorers with 12 points going 6-10 on the free throw line while also contributing with 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. Freshman Guard Destiny Simmons (Brooklyn, NY) scored 10 points going 4-9 on the field and 2-2 on the free throw line while also contributing four rebounds in 36 minutes. Freshman Guard Sharena Mellor (Brooklyn, NY) led the Cougars in rebounds with 16.Â
For the Bulldogs, Taylor George led her team with 16 points going 6-10 on the field while shooting 57% in three pointers while also contributing three assist and three steals in 15 minutes.Â
Lady Cougars continue their conference play next week by returning home to go against conference rival College of Staten Island on Tuesday, January 9th at 5:00pm.
