The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team faced CUNYAC foe Hunter College at the Cougars Cave on Friday, November 30.
The Cougars (0-7) fell to the Hawks (2-4) by a final score of 99-42.
After a rough first quarter during which Hunter outscored Medgar Evers 34-10, the black-and-gold showed their resilience in the second quarter and matched the Hawks bucket for bucket all the way until halftime.
This was a promising result for the young MEC squad, who showed improvement after falling to the Hawks in 92-25 and 89-31 decisions in 2017-18.Â
Jessycca Myers led the way with 15 points, five rebounds (four offensive) and three steals.
Janaisha Carrington contributed 11 points, five rebounds and three assists while
Elizabeth Figaro posted a game-high-tying seven rebounds.
The Cougars next take the floor on Sunday, December 2 against the United States Merchant Marine Academy at the Cougars Cave at 2 pm.
