The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team faced the College of New Rochelle on Wednesday, January 9, in New Rochelle, NY.

In their nonconference finale, the Cougars (0-15) fell to the Angels (3-11) by a final score of 81-40

Medgar quickly fell behind due to a barrage of three pointers and shots by New Rochelle and trailed 29-6 after the first quarter. MEC limited CNR to only 11 points in the second quarter but still trailed 40-14 at halftime.

The third quarter was also competitive and even, with the Angels scoring 20 to the black-and-gold's 17. However, CNR pulled away even more in the final quarter.

Jessycca Myers led MEC with 10 points and added 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. She also contributed three steals.

The Cougars return to action this Friday, January 11, against York College at the Cougars Cave at 6 pm.
