The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team played a road CUNYAC game against the College of Staten Island in Staten Island, NY, on Saturday, January 26.

The Cougars (1-19, 1-10 CUNYAC) fell to the Dolphins (16-4, 10-1) by a final score of 79-58.

Medgar started slow and was trailing 25-10 after the first quarter and 40-20 at halftime. The Cougars improved their shooting percentage in the second half and won the fourth quarter 22-18, but Staten Island was able to close out the game.

Cyndi Whyte (18p/10 reb) and Jessycca Myers (13p/12 reb) each posted a double-double for MEC, while Destiny Simmons contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists on 5-10 shooting.

The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, January 29, for a home CUNYAC matchup against Baruch College at 8 pm.
