The Medgar Evers College men's basketball team faced Baruch College in a home CUNYAC contest at the Cougars Cave in Brooklyn, NY, on Tuesday, January 29.
The Cougars (7-13, 6-6 CUNYAC) fell to the Bearcats (16-4, 10-1) by a final score of 86-63.
Medgar quickly fell behind 15-6 and never really recovered the entire game. Baruch led wire-to-wire and the Cougars were never able to pull within 15 points throughout the entire duration of the second half.
The Bearcats' defense held MEC to just 38% shooting from the floor and 4-of-20 from beyond the arc. Furthermore, Baruch recorded 21 assists while the black-and-gold only totaled six.
Elias Scott led Medgar with 17 points, adding four rebounds, while
Justin Sutton and
Jafet Thomas contributed 12 and 10, respectively.
The Cougars return to action this Friday, February 1, when they travel to CCNY to take on the Beavers in New York, NY, at 7 pm.
