The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team faced John Jay College on Monday, January 7, in New York, NY.
The Cougars (0-14, 0-6 CUNYAC) fell to the Bloodhounds (7-6, 2-3) by a final score of 73-50.
Medgar jumped out to a 7-4 lead but then John Jay went on a 33-7 run which extended well into the second quarter. MEC started the second half down by 16 and cut the deficit to as low as 12 but JJC closed out the win.
Cyndi White led the team with 13 points and added 10 rebounds for her second double-double in a row, while
Jessycca Myers added nine points and 14 rebounds.
MEC was competitive in nearly all facets of the game except for three-point shooting and turnovers. The Cougars were 1-15 from deep while John Jay was 7-18, while the 37 black-and-gold turnovers nearly doubled the Bloodhounds' 20.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, January 9, when they face the College of New Rochelle on the road.
