The Medgar Evers College men's and women's indoor track & field teams sent team members to compete the last two weekends at the DeSchriver Invitational and Giegengack Invitational.
DeSchriver was held on Saturday, February 2, and was hosted by East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, PA.
Jody-Ann Blanchad posted season-best times of 8.38 in the 60m and 27.60 in the 200m..
"Jody-Ann continues to be our leading sprinter," commented Head Coach
Alphonso Dance.
Other notable performances at East Stroudsburg were
Candace Jonas' long jump of 4.33m, which places her #6 on the CUNYAC performance list, as well as
Abdul Kamara's mark of 10.94m in the triple jump.
Giegengack was hosted by Yale University in New Haven, CT, on Saturday, February 9.
Omolade Akinde ran a season-best time of 9.85 in the 60m hurdles, placing him second on the CUNYAC performance list this season.
On the women's side, Blanchad improved upon her season-best in the 60m with a time of 8.36, while
Mahaillia Spencer ran a season-best herself in the 200m (27.66).
"The team is rounding into shape for the CUNYAC Championships," added Dance.
The teams will return to action on Friday, February 15, for the Fastrack Last Chance Meet, starting at 4 pm at Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility in Staten Island, NY.
