Aleigh McIntyre of the Medgar Evers College men's indoor track & field team finished in 7th place in the finals of the 60m dash at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, earning All-America honors for his performance.

The meet is being held on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA. McIntyre is MEC's first men's indoor track & field All-American since 1987.

Yesterday, the sophomore advanced from his heat in third place with a time of 6.89, which was the eighth-fastest time in the heats. Unfortunately, McIntyre appeared to pull up immediately after crossing the finish line, limping and appearing to grab his hamstring area.

However, the sophomore from Grenada was healthy enough to run on Saturday, and turned in a heroic and historic performance in which he finished seventh in a time of 7.01s.

McIntyre also earned two points towards MEC's team standing at the NCAA Championships. Currently the Cougars are in 48th place, the only team from the CUNYAC on the board at the meet.

The MEC indoor track & field season has concluded, and the outdoor season will begin later this month.
