JAMAICA, NY - The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team played a road CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) game at York College on Friday, January 17.

The Cougars (2-11, 0-6 CUNYAC) fell to the Cardinals (6-10, 3-4) by a final score of 61-38.

The first quarter was an evenly-matched battle and by the end of the quarter, Medgar was down just three points. In the second quarter, however, York extended their lead to 16 points, and the Cougar deficit never dropped below 13 points in the second half. 

Cyndi Whyte recorded her fifth double-double in as many games, totaling 12 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals, while Onella Ireland contributed seven points and nine rebounds. Jo-Ann Elliott had a team-best four assists.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, January 22, when they host Hunter College at the Cougars Cave for a 6 pm CUNYAC game.
