NEW YORK, NY - The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team played a road CUNY Athletic Conference game at John Jay College on Wednesday, February 13.
The Cougars (6-16, 2-10 CUNYAC) fell to the Bloodhounds (13-10, 10-2) by a final score of 97-34.
Despite falling behind early and struggling to handle John Jay's offensive firepower, the Cougars still managed to excel on the glass, totaling 45 rebounds throughout the contest.
Cyndi Whyte posted her 12th double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while
Semina Radoncic chipped in with her second double-double in a row with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Chaniya Daughtry also was a dominant presence in the paint, contributing 11 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Still, with John Jay running a full-court press defense the entire game, even when up by 60 points, in the pursuit of statistics, the Cougars struggled to keep control of the ball and score points.
The Cougars return to action for their penultimate game of the regular season on Saturday, February 15, a 1 pm home game against York College that will be crucial to determining the Cougars' playoff fate.
