NEW YORK, NY - The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team played a road CUNY Athletic Conference game at Baruch College on Tuesday, February 4.
The Cougars (5-15, 1-9 CUNYAC) fell to the Bearcats (13-6, 7-3) by a final score of 70-39.
The first half was close, as despite falling behind early 13-4, the Cougars fought back to make the score 19-15 after a
Cyndi Whyte layup. However, Baruch closed the half on a 15-4 run to enter the half up 15, and by the end of the third quarter, the game was basically out of reach.
Whyte led the Cougars with 20 points and added nine rebounds, while
Semina Radoncic and
Chaniya Daughtry (13 rebounds each) helped Medgar out-rebound Baruch 48 to 39.
The Cougars return to action on Monday, February 10, for a home CUNYAC contest against CCNY at the Cougars Cave, which will also be Senior Night.
