The Medgar Evers men's basketball team picked up a dominating victory on Tuesday evening, outplaying Brooklyn College in all facets and defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 85-74 in a CUNYAC Battle of Brooklyn. With the victory, the Cougars have now won three of their past four games, improving to 5-11 overall (2-5 CUNYAC). The Bulldogs slipped to 2-14 on the season, including a mark of 1-5 in league play.

In the victory for Medgar Evers, the Cougars were paced by Andre Evans Jr., as the freshman point guard connected on seven of his 12 attempts from the floor, finishing with a game-high 17 points. He also led all players in steals with seven, snatching five rebounds and collecting two steals in the process, as well. Dante Simmons, the reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, drained five of 11 attempts from the floor, while also sinking six of eight of his freebees, to finish with 16 points. He also grabbed 14 rebounds and posted a game-high six swatted shots to go along with four steals. Senior Keison McIntosh drained five triples, finalizing his evening with 15 points and three rebounds, and it was Mousa Sinera scoring 13 points and posting game-highs of 18 rebounds and five steals. Sinera also reached a milestone, eclipsing 600 total rebounds for his Cougars career (the junior now has a total of 616 boards during his tenure at the college).

Despite the loss for Brooklyn College, Elisha Park led the way for the Bulldogs, tying for the team-high of 15 points while also grabbing a team-best 11 rebounds. Kayin Olajide tied for the team-high of 15 points while leading all Bulldogs with four assists. David McFadden contributed nine points, three assists, and a pair of rebounds, and Emerson Mosley added seven points. The team's leading scorer, Noah Shy, exited the game due to a back injury after logging just seven minutes and scoring three points.

The 85-74 final score was not indicative of how things transpired between the two league goes, as Medgar Evers truly dominated the game after falling behind 9-4 in the opening 4:56. From that point forward, it was all Cougars. A ferocious 22-0 run over a span of 5:37 catapulted Medgar Evers to a commanding 26-9 advantage. The Cougars connected on six three-point baskets during that spurt, including four by McIntosh, one by Evans Jr., and another by Dimitri Weeks. Medgar Evers' biggest lead in the first half was 23 points (41-18), and the team took a 41-22 edge into the locker room at halftime.

In the second stanza, Medgar Evers scored 25 of session's first 39 points to take a 66-36 advantage. That 30-point differential would serve as the Cougars' largest lead of the evening. The Cougars later led 84-57 with 2:44 remaining in the game. With all of Medgar Evers' primary players on the bench, Brooklyn College was able to finish the game on a 17-1 run to make the final score respectable.
