Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hunter's offensive onslaught too much for Cougars as Medgar drops CUNYAC clash

The Medgar Evers men's soccer team dropped a CUNYAC match on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Hawks of Hunter College by a score of 7-0. The match took place at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, NY. With the defeat, the Cougars dipped too 0-14 on the 2022 campaign (0-5 CUNYAC), while the Hawks improved to a mark of 5-6 on the year, and 3-2 in conference action.

Hunter College lit up the scoreboard just 110 seconds into the action, as Ahmed Abukar notched the opening goal, blasting home Regis Enama's feed to give the Hawks the early 1-0 edge. That would be the score until 30:47 into the conference clash before Enama scored a goal of his own (from Alpha Barry) to make it 2-0 in favor of Hunter. The Hawks held that two-goal advantage as time expired on the first half of action.

In the second session, the Hawks peppered five goals into the net to run away from Medgar Evers. Barry scored just 2:57 into the session to make it 3-0 Hunter, and Enama tallied his second goal of the afternoon at 52:43 (from Juan Mejia-Montero) to catapult Hunter College to a 4-0 lead. Barry (from Sammy Ahmed), Abukar (from Enama), and Arutuyn Kazaryan accounted for Hunter's final three goals of the afternoon.

The Cougars will return to the pitch on Saturday evening, as they'll play their final CUNYAC road match of the 2022 campaign. Medgar Evers will travel to Aviator Field to take on the Cardinals of York College. Start-time is scheduled for 7:30pm.
