Men's soccer suffers 4-0 defeat to Bearcats in CUNYAC action Wednesday evening

The Medgar Evers College men's soccer team dropped a CUNYAC match last night, falling to the Bearcats of Baruch College by a score of 4-0. The CUNYAC clash took place on the campus of SUNY Purchase in Purchase, NY. With the loss, the Cougars dipped to 1-9-1 (0-5 CUNYAC), while the Bearcats improved to 3-4-4 (2-1-2 CUNYAC).

The Bearcats built a 2-0 halftime edge courtesy of tallies by Ailey Dawson in the 18th minute (17:43) and Mitchel Frankel in the 29th (28:21). Dawson hit paydirt again in the 72nd minute (71:38), and Kenneth Perry capped Baruch's scoring for the evening by rocketing a ball home in the 80th minute (79:29).

Baruch College dominated the match from the get-go, controlling the pace of play and outshooting Medgar Evers 24-7.

Goalkeeper Dzmitry Piatrashka earned a shutout in goal for the Bearcats, making three saves on the night. His counterpart, Medgar Evers' Clirian Nunez, made 11 saves despite allowing four goals.

The Cougars will wrap up their home portion of the 2025 slate on Saturday afternoon, as Medgar Evers will host Hunter College at Randall's Field (Field No. 74). Start-time is scheduled for 1:45pm. Prior to the match, seniors Taye Simon and Belco Guendeba will be honored by the institution's men's soccer program.
