The Medgar Evers College men's soccer team dropped its first match in CUNYAC play, falling to the Beavers of the City College of New York by a score of 4-0. The match took place on the No. 10 field at Randall's Island in New York, NY. With the defeat, the Cougars dropped to a mark of 1-7-1 (0-1 CUNYAC) on the 2025 campaign, while the hosts improved to 1-6-2 (1-0 CUNYAC).

After 31 minutes of scoreless soccer, CCNY broke through for the first goal of the clash when Josue Lema received a beautiful lead pass from Mattia Gaspari before depositing the ball into the net. That gave the Beavers a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later, Bitoshoke Chakma added to CCNY's advantage by registering a goal of his own to make it 2-0. That aforementioned 2-0 score would hold as time expired on the opening half.

The Beavers added to their lead in the 54th minute of the contest when Yanis Hamdi Pacha slashed home a crisp pass from Lema, making it 3-0 Beavers. CCNY put an exclamation point on its triumph in the 87th minute when Konstantinos Psomaras blasted home the squad's fourth goal to cap the scoring.

CCNY controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Medgar Evers 27–2, including 18 shots on goal.

Clirian Nunez played all 90 minutes in net and took the loss, allowing four goals and making 14 stops. His counterpart, Beavers netminder Carlos Garcia earned the shutout, only needing to stop a pair of shots.

The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, as Medgar Evers will play its home opener against the Cardinals of York College. Start-time at the No. 74 field at Randall's Island is scheduled for 1:00pm.
