Men's Cross Country

Cross country teams wrap up 2025 season in strong fashion with inspiring performances at ECAC's, NCAA DIII Regionals

The men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2025 seasons in recent weeks, competing at the ECAC Championships at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome (Milton, NY) back on Saturday, November 8, and running at the NCAA Division III Metro Regional Championships at Dream Park (Logan Township, NJ) this past Saturday.

Only the men's squad scored at the ECAC Championships, coming in 8th out of 8 teams, and only the Cougars' women's squad placed at the NCAA Division III Metro Regionals (22nd out of 25 teams), but the teams boasted some strong individual performances across the two meets.

Coach Reid's Quote about ECAC Championships

"I'm extremely proud of how our teams competed this weekend at the ECAC Championship," Reid said. "The women had a strong showing and were on pace for a great team finish before one of our top runners was unable to complete the race. Still, the effort and heart they displayed were outstanding — highlighted by Brianna Lindo's 8th-place finish and All-ECAC honors. Kenia Irish-Bramble, Nana Samake, and Maritza Argueta also ran tremendous races, showing just how deep and determined this squad has become. On the men's side, finishing 8th overall in a competitive field was a solid performance, led by freshman Tiego Brown and supported by consistent runs from Joshua Felix, David Chisholm, Xavier Bingham, and Matthew Fleming. This was one of the toughest courses we've faced all season, yet our athletes rose to the challenge and posted their best efforts on it to date."

Women's Output at ECAC Championships

As mentioned previously by Reid, Brianna Lindo's eighth place finish in the women's 6K meet (28:29.6) earned the standout All-ECAC honors. Kenia Irish-Bramble finished in the top 20, crossing the tape at 30:51 (19th overall), and Nana Samake (32:36.2, 30th overall) and Maritza Argueta (34:20.9, 41st overall) rounded out the Cougars' female finishers.

Newcomer Tiego Brown was the first Cougars runner to cross the meet in the 8K event, as he finished the course in 38:05.9, a time good for 44th overall. The next Medgar Evers runner to complete the meet was veteran Joshua Felix, as he clicked in at 38:59 (47th overall), and rounding out the men's runners were Davis Chisholm (41:35.5, 50th overall), Xavier Bingham (48:15.9, 54th overall), and Matthew Fleming (48:45.2, 55th overall).

Coach Reid's Quote about NCAA Division III Metro Regionals

"I feel as though we had a very strong end to this 2025 season with the way we competed at Regionals," Reid said. "These student-athletes worked very hard, evidenced by Brianna Lindo's record-breaking performances, the gritty determination shown by the entire women's team, and the personal-best times set by the men. These young men and women improved significantly throughout the season, helping to put Medgar Evers cross country on the tap. There is a lot on the horizon for these kids and our programs, and it's very exciting to see."

Women's Output at NCAA Division III Metro Regionals

Brianna Lindo put forth a fantastic performance in the women's 6K meet, breaking the school record by more than 100 seconds when she finished 82nd overall at 24:45.5. Kenia Irish-Bramble (146th overall) crossed the tape at 28:09.3, and Duranya Gayle (161st overall, 30:36.1), Martiza Argueta (169th overall, 32:25), and Nana Samake (191st overall, 52:58.7) also scored for the Cougars.
