Men's Cross Country

Cross Country teams motivated to shine as MEC Department of Athletics announces compelling 2026 slate

The Medgar Evers College men's and women's cross country teams are set to embark on the 2026 season, with the Cougars slated to compete at a series of invitationals throughout the region before closing out the campaign at the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championship.

The 2026 schedule provides Medgar Evers with a challenging mix of competition across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, giving both squads an opportunity to test themselves against a variety of collegiate programs throughout the fall.

Competition gets underway on Saturday, September 5, when the Cougars travel to Montgomery Place in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., for the Fred Pavlich Invitational.

Medgar Evers will travel to Holmdel Park in Holmdel, N.J., the following weekend, for the Back to the Bowl Invitational on September 12. The Cougars will then head to Galloway, N.J., for the Osprey Open on September 19 before wrapping up the month with a trip to West Chester, Pa., for the Purple and Gold Open on September 26.

The October portion of the schedule features another demanding stretch of competition. The Cougars will compete at the Penn State Brandywine Invitational in Media, Pa., on October 3, followed by the Golden Ram Open in Coatesville, Pa., on October 10. Medgar Evers will then compete at the Lincoln University (Pa.) Championship Tune-Up on October 15.

The regular-season schedule concludes with the Interregional Border Battle on October 17 at Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J. The event will provide one final opportunity for the Cougars to prepare for the championship portion of the season.

Postseason competition commences on Sunday, October 25, when Medgar Evers travels to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx for the 2026 CUNYAC Championship. The conference championship will serve as the ultimate test for both the men's and women's squads following nearly two months of competition.

With a schedule featuring eight regular-season meets before the conference championship, the Cougars will have plenty of opportunities to build momentum, gain valuable racing experience and position themselves for success when the CUNYAC postseason arrives.
