Medgar Evers College freshman forward Shackoneal Myrurrie was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the period of Sept. 27-Oct. 3, the conference announced Monday.

Myrurrie enjoyed an impressive week for the Cougars, recording three goals and two assists for eight points as Medgar Evers went 1-1 in a pair of CUNYAC contests against Brooklyn College and CCNY.

The freshman opened the week with a two-goal, one-assist performance against the Bulldogs, before following it up with another standout effort against CCNY. Myrurrie scored once, added an assist and netted the game-winning goal as the Cougars secured a 5-2 conference victory over the Beavers.

The weekly honor marks another CUNYAC accolade for the Cougars during the 2026 campaign.

Medgar Evers will return to action Tuesday afternoon, October 6, when the Cougars travel to Lehman College for another CUNYAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
