Trevonne Tcha CSC Award

Men's Basketball

Trevonne Tcha named to the 2025-2026 Men's Basketball Academic All-District team by College Sports Communicators

College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® men's and women's basketball teams on Tuiesday morning, with Medgar Evers College student-athlete Trevonne Tcha earning a spot on the squad thanks to his brilliance in the classroom.

To qualify for this academic honor, an undergraduate or graduate student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, plus have competed in at least 90% of team's games OR have started at least 66 percent of the contests played.

During the 2025-2026 men's basketball season, the Holy Cross High School product was one of only three Cougars to appear in at least 23 games. He tied for second on the team in total rebounds with 60, and became a key cog in the Cougars' wheel, always showing determination and grit every time he graced the court.

Overall, Tcha is the consummate college student, achieving excellent grades, staying active by competing in athletics, and developing a tremendous work ethic to best prepare himself for life after college.

The versatile student-athlete was one of eight CUNYAC student-athletes to be selected. The Baruch College Bearcats led CUNYAC with three recipients as Pete Douvres, Jack Gordon, and Nicholas Lam garnered distinctions. Adrian Kopec and Ronald McIntyre represented John Jay College, and Herbert Gary (Brooklyn) and Kesean Tracey (Lehman) rounded out the CUNYAC honorees.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 14 (men) and April 15 (women).

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
