17 Cougars Earn CUNYAC '25-'26 Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll Status

Seventeen student-athletes from Medgar Evers College have earned recognition on the 2025-2026 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, highlighting academic excellence of the College's athletics program.

The CUNYAC Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll recognizes varsity student-athletes who participated in sports competing during the winter or spring championship season and achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better on a 4.0 scale. The 2026 Honor Roll includes 583 student-athletes from eight CUNYAC member campuses.

The Medgar Evers College honorees represented a wide range of Cougar programs, including men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. The 17 Cougars who earned '25-'26 winter/spring academic honor roll praise are as follows:

Several Cougars earned recognition while competing in multiple sports, demonstrating the significant commitment required to balance demanding athletic schedules with their academic responsibilities. In total, the 17 honorees accounted for numerous athletic teams and disciplines across the College.

"We applaud our student-athletes for their academic accomplishments," Murphy said. "Our department takes pride in our students' performance, and it's gratifying to see them continue to shine in the classroom, persevering through the challenges of balancing school, athletics, work, and family obligations. These 17 student-athletes should be proud of their dedication and sacrifices, and may they continue to prosper both athletically and academically."

The CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll serves as a celebration of the conference's student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. For Medgar Evers College, this year's 17 honorees represent the academic commitment and perseverance that continue to define the Cougar student-athlete experience.
