New York, NY- The Women's Volleyball team lost to Baruch College 3-0 (5-25, 9-25, 12-25) on Tuesday Oct.18, 2011 at Baruch College. The Bearcats improved to 17-8 Overall, 6-1 CUNYAC while MEC dropped to 0-18 Overall and 0-7 CUNYAC.
The Bearcats showed MEC why they are in 2nd place in the conference. They dominated the match from the start, making good serves and finishing strong. The Cougars couldn't stop the Bearcats serves as they committed 25 receiving errors.
In the loss, the Lady Cougars were led by
Catheline Joseph with 2 kills to go along with 8 digs.
Yvanna Jack and
Janiece Hill added a kill.
AnnMarie Bemberry led the team in assists with 3 and
Grace Mercado added 2 service aces.
The Bearcats in the win, were led by Jessica Wu. Wu tallied a match high 7 kills.
The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Thursday Oct.20, 2011 when they play the College of St. Elizabeth Eagles. The match is set to take place at 7pm.
