Brooklyn, NY- The 2011 edition of the Lady Cougar volleyball team dropped their season opener to Yeshiva University on Thursday night in Cougars Cave. MEC (0-1, 0-0)  was defeated by scores of 11-25, 14-25, and 22-25. The Maccabees improved to 1-0.

 

Catheline Joseph led the offensive attack for the Cougars tallying a team high 5 kills to go along with 2 aces and 5 digs. Natina McKessey and Kiwelewa Mlimwengu each tallied 3 kills. Grace Mercado led the team in assists with 8, while McKessey tallied 6. Yvanna Jack led the team in digs with 8. 

 

Yeshiva was led by Sarit Zukowsky with 5 kills and Dena Shayne tacked on 4.

 

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday Sept. 7^th  when they take on the Rutgers- Camden at York College at 6 pm.
