COUGARS FALL TO BEARCATS 3-0 IN CONFERENCE FINALE

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- On Tuesday night, the Medgar Evers College Women's Volleyball squad concluded their 2012 conference season with a match vs. the Baruch College Bearcats. Baruch won 3-0 (25-5, 25-11, and 25-9). The Bearcats improved to 20-7 Overall and 8-0 CUNYAC while the Cougars of Medgar Evers dropped to 1-20 Overall and 0-8 CUNYAC.

After Baruch breezed through the first set, Medgar Evers played the 2nd set with fire, energy and passion. The Cougars were down 17-6 when they came back and cut the lead 17-11. Baruch would take the set and the 3rd as well. After the match, Senior Catheline Joseph was given a t-shirt signed by her teammates.

In the loss, Medgar Evers was led by Senior Catheline Joseph and Junior Janiece Hill. Both tallied 2 kills, while Hill added 5 digs. Junior Beatrice Bonhomme earned 2 solo blocks and AnnMarie Bemberry accumulated 4 assists.

In the win, Baruch was led by Lauren Hayden with 7 kills.

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 27, 2012 when they play HVWAC foe Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons at Medgar Evers College in a conference tilt. Game time is 1pm.
