COUGARS FALL TO RAMS 62-60

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Cougars fell to the Farmingdale State Rams 62-60 at Medgar Evers College. The Rams improved to 2-1 Overall while the Cougars dropped to 2-2 Overall.

This game featured the reigning Double Doubles player AJ Matthews and # 2 on the Double Doubles list Winston Douglas. The game featured 8 ties. Medgar Evers led for most of the 1st half, before Farmingdale State tying the game on a 3pt. shot from Ryan Davis evening the game at 28. In the 2nd half, Farmingdale State led for most of the time, with an occasional Cougar comeback. The lead for both teams was never more than 7pts. It was a see saw battle throughout.

The Cougars in the loss,were led by Senior Captain Jovan Deare. Deare scored a game high 28pts, grabbed 11 rebounds, and added an assist, and 2 steals. Jovan adds to his total points for his career which is now 1324. He is 41pts for the all time mark of 1365 set by Ronald Holloway back in 2010. Senior Forward Winston Douglas earned his 4th straight Double Double with 10pts and 19 rebounds. Douglas added 4 assists,  a block and a steal.

Farmingdale State was led by AJ Matthews with 24pts and Ryan Davis with 18pts.

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Tuesday November 27, 2012 when they start their conference season with a matchup against Bronx rival Lehman College Lightning. Game time is 8pm.
