Box Score New York, NY- The Cougars Men's Basketball team entered the City College of New York with 2 thoughts, win the game and help Senior Captain Jovan Deare break the all time scoring mark in program history. Medgar Evers College defeated the City College of New York Beavers 56-41. They improve to 4-2 Overall and 2-0 CUNYAC while CCNY falls to 3-3 Overall and 0-2 CUNYAC.

It was tight game from the opening tip. No team had a larger lead than 3pts. There were 10 lead changes in the 1st half. Medgar Evers led at the half 24-21. In the 2nd half, CCNY tied the game at 24, with a 3pt. shot from David Solano (18:21 left). Medgar Evers College would respond with a 3pt. shot from Freshman De'Vaughn Estwick, making the score 27-24 with 17:31 left in the game. The Cougars would lead the rest of the game. MEC would lead by as much as 15pts.

Medgar Evers College in the win, was led by Senior Captain Jovan Deare. Deare scored 19pts, which tied a school record at 1365pts. He grabbed 12 rebounds, tallying 3 assists, and 2 steals. Senior Forward Winston Douglas fell short of his 6th straight double double. Douglas scored 11pts, grabbed 9 rebounds, added an assist, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. Freshman Guard De'Vaughn Estwick scored 10pts, grabbed 3 rebounds, added 2 assists, a block, and a steal.

City College of New York in the loss, was led by David Solano with 11pts. 

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Monday Dec. 3, 2012, when they play the Saint Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks (25th in the nation) at Medgar Evers College. Game time is 7pm.
