COUGARS BEAT KNIGHTS OF BERKELEY (NY)

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Cougars snapped a 3 game losing streak by defeating the Berkeley College of New York Knights 91-69. The Cougars improve to 5-5 Overall while the Knights dropped to 5-5 Overall.

The Cougars led wire to wire. They led by as much as 20pts in the 1st half and 22pts in the 2nd half.

Medgar Evers College shot 45.3% from the field and 82.5% from the free throw line in the game. Medgar Evers College was led by Senior Captain and Guard Jovan Deare. Deare scored a game high and season high 34pts (18-19 FT-FTA), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Senior Forward Winston Douglas scored 15pts (5-7 FT-FTA), grabbed 13 rebounds, gathered 6 assists, 4 blocks, and 3 steals. This was his 8th double double this season.

Berkeley College of NY was led in the loss by Jose Stable with 26pts. Kaseem Williams scored 18pts and Jovan Bovell added 15pts. 

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Sunday Dec. 30, 2012 when they take on #25 in Division 3 Amherst College Lord Jeffs at Medgar Evers College. Game time is 4pm.
