COUGARS FALL TO #25 LORD JEFFS 93-61

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball team fell to #25 Amherst College Lord Jeffs 93-61 at Medgar Evers College on Sunday Dec.30, 2012. The win improved Amherst to 9-2 Overall while the Cougars dropped to 5-6 Overall.

Amherst led wire to wire. Medgar Evers tried to keep up with the bigger Lord Jeffs, but were overmatched. 

Medgar Evers shot 78.6% from the free throw line, the only category that was better than Amherst in this game.

In the loss, Medgar Evers College was led by Senior Forward Winston Douglas. He recorded a game high 23pts (4-5 FT-FTA), grabbed 13 rebounds, and added 2 assists, and 2 steals. This was Douglas' 9th double double of this season. Senior Captain and Guard Jovan Deare scored 17pts (4-5 FT-FTA), grabbed 3 rebounds, added an assist, and 3 steals. Junior Guard and Captain Kayode Prime scored 10pts, earned a block, and added an assist, and 2 steals.

Amherst had 5 players in double figures. They were led by Connor Green with 15pts.

Medgar Evers College will be back in action when they travel to Mahwah, NJ and take on the #10 ranked in Division 3 Ramapo College Roadrunners. Game time is 7pm.
