COUGARS FALL TO BORO RIVAL BULLDOGS IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- On Thursday Sept. 20, 2012, the Medgar Evers College Women's Volleyball team fell to conference and borough rival the Brooklyn College Bulldogs 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, and 25-22). The Bulldogs improved to 1-7 Overall and 1-2 CUNYAC while Medgar Evers dropped to 0-9 Overall and 0-4 CUNYAC.
 
Brooklyn rolled through the first 2 sets before having a battle with Medgar Evers in the 3rd set. Medgar Evers led 18-13 before Brooklyn tied the score at 18., it was also tied at 21, before Brooklyn served and took the set 25-22.
 
In the loss, Medgar Evers was led by Junior Janiece Hill. Hill tallied a match high 9 kills on 19 total attacks, while adding 3 digs. Sophomore AnnMarie Bemberry led with 9 assists. Bemberry added 2 solo blocks.
 
Brooklyn was led by Jillian Escobar with 11 kills. Kathy Chu added 13 assists.
 
Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Friday Sept. 21, 2012 when they travel to Bronxville, NY and take on HVWAC member Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons. Game time is 8pm.
