Box Score New York, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Cougars fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 67-46 earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 8-8 Overall and 5-3 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-15 Overall and 0-8 CUNYAC.
The Bearcats led for much of the game. The Cougars tied the game at two, which was also the closest they got to the lead. The Bearcats would regain the lead, and not give it up. The lone bright spot for the Cougars, was they shot better from the free throw line than Baruch. The Cougars shot 55% from the free throw line, compared to the Bearcats 53.8%.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard
Khalid Yousef with 20pts (1-2 3pt. range FG-FGA and 3-6 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed seven rebounds. Junior Forward/Center and Co-Captain
Valin Williams scored 8pts (2-3 FT-FTA) and grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.
In the win, Baruch was led by Granville Gittens with 20pts. Raymond De La Cruz scored 18pts and Matas Rascius added 14pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday January 22, 2014, when they play the Lehman College Lightning at Medgar Evers College. Game time is 8pm.
