COUGARS FALL TO LIGHTNING IN MEN'S BASKETBALL

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Team fell to the Lehman College Lightning 83-46 earlier tonight. The Lightning improve to 10-7 Overall and 5-4 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-16 Overall and 0-9 CUNYAC.

Lehman led from the opening tip. The Cougars would get within 4pts twice, early on in the contest. The lone bright spot is the Cougars shot 84.2% from the free throw line, compared to Lehman's 60%.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Forward/Center and Co-Captain Valin Williams, scoring 15pts (3-4 FT-FTA) and grabbing a game high 20 rebounds. This marked his 5th double double for this season. Williams dominated the glass defensively, grabbing 11 rebounds of his 20 total boards. Junior Guard Khalid Yousef scored 12pts (6-6 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY antive grabbed a rebound, dished out a team high three assists, and added the lone team block. 

In the win, Lehman College was led by Stanley Stephens with 24pts. Jerrome Jones tallied 16pts and Jonathan Greenfield added 11pts.

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday January 24, 2014, when the City College of New York Beavers, travel to Brooklyn, and matchup aginst the Cougars. Game time is 8pm.
