Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Cougars fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 82-56 earlier tonight. John Jay improves to 5-7 Overall and 3-2 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-11 Overall and 0-5 CUNYAC.
The Cougars and Bloodhounds swapped baskets for the first 13 minutes of the game. The Cougars led three times (2-0, 7-6 and 11-10). The lead during this time didn't extend more than two points. At 11-10, the Bloodhounds went on a 9-0 run, which went for two minutes. They led 30-20 at the half. In the 2nd half, the Cougars only came within three points from the lead.Â
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard
Khalid Yousef with 23pts (4-8 FT-FTA). Yousef grabbed four rebounds, dished out an assist, and tallied four steals. Junior Guard and Co-Captain
Pablo Segura scored 18pts (10-11 FT-FTA). The Flushing, NY native grabbed two rebounds, dished out an assist, and added two steals. Junior Forward/Center
Valin Williams grabbed a team high 10 rebounds.
In the win, John Jay College was led by Kris Owens with 33pts. Korede Griffith added 10pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday January. 10, 2014, when they take on defending CUNYAC Champions the College of Staten Island Dolphins. Game time will be 8pm at Medgar Evers College.
