COUGARS MEN'S BASKETBALL FALL TO BARUCH IN HOME SEASON FINALE

Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball Cougars fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 67-45 earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 13-11 Overall and 9-6 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-20 Overall and 1-12 CUNYAC. This was the last game at home this season. 

The game was led by Baruch for majority of the time. The Cougars tied the game twice at 4-4 and 12-12. The Cougars kept the Bearcats close. They were never down by more than 10pts for 30 minutes of game time. The Cougars were within striking distance of taking the lead, but couldn't get it done. It wasn't until 8:56 left in the game, when the Bearcats increased their lead to double digits. The lone bright spot, was the Cougars shot 80% from the free throw line, besting the Bearcats in that category.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard Khalid Yousef with a game high 20pts (9-9 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed 7 rebounds and added two steals. Junior Forward/Center Valin Williams grabbed a game high 12 rebounds. Williams added a game high four blocks.

In the win, the Bearcats were led by Raymond De La Cruz with 19pts (5-8 3pt. range). Matt Feldman tallied 15pts and Granville Gittens added 11pts.

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday Feb. 12, 2014, when they travel to New York, NY and battle the John Jay Bloodhounds. This is a makeup game from Feb. 3, 2014. Game time is 6pm.
