Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Men's Basketball team fell to the York College Cardinals 90-60 earlier tonight. The Cardinals improve to 15-9 Overall and 10-3 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-19 Overall and 1-11 CUNYAC.
York led early 4-0, until the Cougars tied the game up at 4. York went on a 10-0 run, and never gave up the lead for the rest of the game. The lone bright spot, was the Cougars shot better than the Cardinals from the free throw line (81.5% compared to 79.3%).
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard
Khalid Yousef with 19pts (5-5 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists. Junior Forward/Center and Co-Captain
Valin Williams recorded his 8th double double of the season. The Brooklyn, NY native scored 17pts (7-8 FT-FTA), grabbed a game high 19 rebounds (11 defensive), dished out an assist, added a block, and tallied two steals. Sophomore Guard
Mark Hudson scored 10pts (3-4 FG-FGA and 4-4 FT-FTA). The Far Rockaway resident, grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists, recorded a block, and tallied a steal.Â
In the win, York was led by Michael Woods with 28pts. Three other Cardinals scored in double figures including: Omar St. John (18pts), Jaron Williams (15pts), and Donald Rodriguez with 10pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday February 11, 2014, when they take on the Baruch College Bearcats at Medgar Evers College. This will be the final home game for the 2013-14 season. Game time is 8pm.
