Box Score Jamaica, NY- The Men's Basketball team fell to the York College Cardinals 82-67 earlier tonight. The Cardinals improve to 10-8 overall and 5-4 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-14 overall and 1-8 CUNYAC.
The Cougars got off to a 4-0 lead, produced by shots from Freshman Guard

Pablo Segura. They would build a lead to 8-6, before the Cardinals got ahead 9-8, when Omar St. John nailed a 3pt. shot. Junior Guard
Mark Hudson converted on a 3pt. play, tying the game at 11, with 12:41 left in the half. The Cardinals would go on a 16-0 run, pulling ahead 27-11. Medgar Evers College would only get as close to the lead by just nine points. For the game, the Cougars shot 33.3% from the field, 38.1%, and 55% from the free throw line. York College shot 51.7% from the field, 50% from 3pt. range, and 71.4% from the free throw line.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard
Matthew Walker with 18pts (7-15 FG-FGA, 1-2 3pt. FG-FGA, and 3-6 FT-FTA). Matt grabbed a rebound and dished out three assists. Freshman Guard
Reynaldo Eloy scored 17pts (6-19 FG-FGA, 5-10 3pt. FG-FGA, and 0-2 FT-FTA). Reynaldo grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists, and added a steal. Senior Co-Captain and Forward
Valin Williams scored 10pts (3-8 FG-FGA and 4-5 FT-FTA) and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Brooklyn, NY native recorded his 9th double-double this season. Valin swiped away three shots and added a steal. York was led by Jaron Williams with 19pts. Omar St. John and Franklin Green each scored 11pts apiece.
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, January. 24, 2015, when they travel to the Bronx, NY and battle the Lehman College Lightning. Game time will be 3:00 pm.
