Men's Soccer Defeated in CUNYAC Play to Hunter

Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers men's soccer team allowed scores early and could not recover in as they lost to CUNYAC foe Hunter College, 12-0, Monday night at the Aviator Sports Complex.

The Cougars (2-11-1, 1-5-1 CUNYAC) were paced by keeper Dave Henry (Carrefour, Haiti/Canarsie) who stopped nine shots in the first half. In the first half, Erwine Pierre-Louis (Jacmel, Haiti/Lycee Wolson) made three saves while in net in a losing effort

For the Hawks (6-9, 2-4 CUNYAC), Jacob Gorodetsky notched a hat trick in the win, while Brian Cespedes William Benitez and Bryan Suertegaray each tallied two goals apiece. Diego Cisneros added a goal and an assist in the victory.

The first half saw Hunter strike early on, with Suertegaray netting the goal in the 8th minute of play. Aristo Ioannidis would then add to the lead at 13:16. Cespedes would score in the 34th minute, while Suertegaray and Gorodetsky scored a goal each within 30 seconds as the Hawks went into break up 5-0. In the second, they continued their dominance on offense, unleashing a barrage of seven second-half goals to put the game out of reach.

Medgar Evers will cap off their CUNYAC conference play with a makeup game against the City College of New York on Saturday.
