BROOKLYN, N.Y.- The Men's Basketball team fell to the College of Staten Island Dolphins 82-54 earlier tonight. The Dolphins improve to 17-6, 11-3 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 3-20, 2-12 CUNYAC. This was the home season finale for the Cougars. Prior the game, senior forward

The game started off with both teams swapping buckets. With the game tied at two, the Cougars would go on a 8-0 run, spanning three minutes. CSI would go on a 11-0 run and regain the lead, 12-10. Medgar Evers College would chip at the lead, and cut it to just a few points. With the CSI up 22-18, junior forward
Zavier Coston scored a layup, cutting the lead to a bucket, 22-20. Junior guard
Kyle Sierra would make both free throws, tying the game at 22, with 5:23 left in the 1st half. CSI would go back up briefly, before Sierra converted on a running layup, giving the Cougars a 26-25 lead. CSI would then go on a 12-2, going into the half up 37-28. CSI led the entire 2nd half and outshot the Cougars 45-26.
For the game, the Cougars shot 29.9% from the field, 36.4% from 3pt. range, and 66.7% from the free throw line. CSI shot 45.5% from the field, 37.5% from 3pt. range, and 81.3% from the free throw line. In the loss, the Cougars were led by freshman guard
Reynaldo Eloy with 17 points (5-19 FG-FGA, 3-6 3pt. range, and 4-4 FT-FTA). Reynaldo grabbed two rebounds and added a steal. Junior guard
Matt Walker scored 13 points (6-16 FG-FGA, 0-2 3pt. FG-FGA, and 1-4 FT-FTA). Matt grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists, and added a steal. Junior Forward
Zavier Coston grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. CSI was led by Will Fonseca with 34 points. Frank Schettino scored 19 points and Thomas Delahanty adding 13 points.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday, February. 13, 2015, when they travel a few miles from campus, and play the Brooklyn College Bulldogs. Game time will be 7:15 p.m.
