Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Men's Basketball team fell to the City College of New York Beavers 74-62 in a must win game. The Beavers (8-16, 3-13 CUNYAC) now move on to the 2015 CUNYAC Men's Basketball Championships. The Cougars finish the season at 3-22, 2-14 CUNYAC).
The Beavers led from the opening tip. The Cougars tied the score at two, but CCNY took control. Medgar Evers College cut the lead to single digits five times, but it just wasn't enough. For the game, they shot 40% from the field, 23.8% from 3pt. range, and 65% from the free throw line. CCNY shot 50% from the field, 55.6% from 3pt. range, and 63% from the charity stripe.
Junior guard
Matt Walker led the Cougars with 23 points (8-19 FG-FGA, 3-9 3pt. range, and 4-6 FT-FTA). Matt grabbed a pair of rebounds, dished out four assists, swiped away a shot, and added a team high three steals. Freshman guard
Reynaldo Eloy scored 12 points (5-14 FG-FGA and 2-2 FT-FTA). Reynaldo grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists, and added two steals. Junior forward
Pablo Segura added 10 points. CCNY was led by Anthony Lewis with 25 points.
The Cougars will be back in 2015-16 season, looking for better things to come.
