Box Score Men's Basketball Loses 87-79 to Farmingdale State in Consolation Game
(CHESTER, PA.) – The Medgar Evers men's basketball team took on Farmingdale State College in the consolation game of the Tip-Off for Autism Awareness at Widener University. In the first half Medgar Evers shot the ball well from beyond the arc going 6-13 (46%) but they still trailed going into halftime 48-36. Farmingdale State shot the bell even better going 16-30 (53%) and 8-16 (50%) from deep.
Medgar Evers made a nice run in the second half but was unable to complete the comeback. Junior guard
Maurice Swaby II (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the Cougars' leading scorer with a game-high 24 points on 7-17 shooting including 5-11 from three. Sophomore guard
Joancarlo Bonilla (Woodside, N.Y.) added 15 points, a team-high eight rebounds and five assists. The leading scorer for Farmingdale State was
George Riefenstahl with 17.
With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to an even 1-2 while Farmingdale State improves to an even 1-1. The men's basketball team is back in action this Saturday, November 26
th when visit St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn. The game will start at 4:00 p.m.
